THE ISLAND OF APHRODITE
Kythera, known also under the Venetian name of Tsirigo (Cerigo), is the island of Aphrodite (the Godess of Love). It is located in southern Greece under the Peloponnese. You can reach the island by sea from the port of Piraeus, Crete, the Peloponnese (Neapoli, Gythio, Kalamata) and Αntikythera. There are also air flights from Athens every day and from abroad via charter.
The island's population is 3,354 (2001 statistics) and its capital is Kythera (or Chora). Geographically and historically it belongs to the Ionian islands. Although Kythera is a Municipality it is administered by the Attica Region.
It has a newly-built hospital, banks and public services in Potamos and Chora. The climate is Mediterranean with an average annual temperature of 20 degrees c. The locals are mostly involved with the production of thyme honey, olive oil, cheese, paximathia (rusks) and the well-known liqueur "fatouratha”.
A huge proportion of Kythera's population is involved in tourism with many remarkable hotels, apartments, restaurants and coffee lounges each ready to meet your requirements. The picturesque villages, beautiful & clean beaches, waterfalls and walking paths are only a few of what can fascinate every visitor. | AGE REQUIREMENT | Minimum age limits 23 years old. |
| DRIVER’S LICENSE | A valid driver’s license (Greek, European, International) held for at least one year is required. |
| MINIMUM RENTAL | One day. Every hour in excess is calculated at 1/5 of daily rate. |
| TRAFFIC FINES | Tickets and attached administrative sanctions resulting from any violation of the Greek traffic law during rental period are the sole responsibility of the renter. |
| WAY OF PAYMENT | For each renting of car is always required credit card as guarantee even if the tenant pays off the renting with cash. For renting of luxury category cars are required two credit cards, from which one of them should be Visa or MasterCard. |
| GASOLINE | Gasoline consumption is payable by the renter. |
| BABY SEATS | Free of charge. |
| AVAILABILITY | Car models are according to original planning. Delivery problems however, may compel us to supply another vehicle in exceptional cases. |
| FERRYING THE CAR | Ferrying the car only with permission from Hlabeas Rent A Car. |
| INSURANCE | All authorized drivers of Hlabeas Rent A Car vehicles are covered against fine and liability to third parties (excluding passengers in Hlabeas Rent A Car vehicles) for death, injury or damage to property. |
| TAXES | All rates are subject to 24% VAT. |
| CANCELLATION POLICY | No fee is charged for cancellations within 14 days before the first rental day. For any cancellation made after, the deposit will be charged. |
| DELIVERY & COLLECTION CHARGES | Free of charge in all villages and from/to airport or port. |
